Woman, 21, Slammed for Mocking Africa in Birthday Party

We all get a little excited when planning our birthdays, but one recent celebration may have been taken a little too far.
An Australian woman, identified only as Olivia, is being criticized for hosting an “Africa themed” 21st birthday party.
She posted several insensitive pictures from her party on Facebook in September, but they have now gone viral after a Tumblr user by the name of Black in Asia found them and reposted them last week.
Guests of this ‘Africa themed’ bash painted themselves in black or brown body paint.  Some costumes included George of the Jungle-style costumes, cheetah-print loincloths, and dreadlock wigs.
One guest even dressed in a hooded Klu Klux Klan costume.
“It was my ‘African themed’ party and it was honestly made that theme because  I have always wanted to go to Africa (to teach English) but haven’t made it there yet.  In no way was this party intended to hurt anyone’s feelings or upset anyone at all,” Olivia wrote on Tumblr.
Her Facebook and other social media accounts have been deleted.
