Nicki Minaj Finally Clarifies Her Position In The Drake And Meek Feud

You’ve gotta respect the fact that Nicki Minaj is all about her business. It feels like the world could be crumbling around her and Nicki would not bat an eyelash, or publicly let on that anything was wrong.

This year, we watched the men in her inner circle fall out with each other — Drake vs. Meek Milland Lil Wayne vs. Birdman — and the Queens rapper kept a neutral stance in both situations.

In her new cover feature for The New York Times Magazine, she finally addresses the feuds, and reminds us that these guys can deal with their own sh-t.
“They’re men, grown-ass men,” she said, when asked how she felt about Meek and Drake publicly beefing, for example. “It’s between them.”
Sure, she has feelings about it… “I hate it. It doesn’t make me feel good. You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.” But, trying to insinuate that she “thrives on drama,” like the writer did, really sets her off.

“That’s disrespectful,” Nicki snapped back. “Why would a grown-ass woman thrive off drama? What do the four men you just named have to do with me thriving off drama? Why would you even say that? That’s so peculiar. Four grown-ass men are having issues between themselves, and you’re asking me do I thrive off drama?”
The writer clearly struck a nerve, and it was too late for an apology.

“That’s the typical thing that women do. What did you putting me down right there do for you?” she continued. “Women blame women for things that have nothing to do with them. I really want to know why — as a matter of fact, I don’t. Can we move on, do you have anything else to ask?
“To put down a woman for something that men do, as if they’re children and I’m responsible, has nothing to do with you asking stupid questions, because you know that’s not just a stupid question. That’s a premeditated thing you just did.”

When she got to the point of saying, “Do not speak to me like I’m stupid or beneath you in any way,” the interview was clearly over.
