The Force Public Relation Officer, DCP Frank Mba, declared in an announcement in Abuja, saying the mandate is as a result of the homicide of Rev. Fr. David Tanko by obscure people in the early long stretches of Thursday.
Mba said the cleric was frightfully killed in the most inhuman and brutal way at Kpankufu Village along Wukari Road in Taraba on his approach to Kofai Amadu town. He said the IGP had given marching requests to the commissioner of police in-charge of Taraba Command to fish out the executioners.
Mba said the IGP likewise coordinated the appointee inspector-general of police in-charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department to give extra measurable and other investigative resources for the Police Command in Taraba to help investigations into the incident.
He said the IGP had communicated profound worry over the ongoing incidents of assaults on ministers in certain pieces of the nation.
Mba said the IGP had mourned with the Catholic family in Nigeria over the heartbreaking incident and encouraged individuals to be quiet.
