Kate Middleton struck up a friendship with the ‘Bootylicious’ singer when the couples met in New York last December and bonded over their shared love of charity work and blow dries, according to Yahoo News.
An official statement from Kensington Palace this morning confirmed the news: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that Sean Carter and Beyoncé Carter nee Knowles will be godparents to their new arrival.”
Kate and William bumped into Jay and Queen Bey at a Brooklyn Nets basketball game and have been in constant contact ever since.
“Beyoncé gives Kate fashion advice all the time,” a source close to the royal couple revealed.
“Their mutual love of Alexander McQueen grew into a real friendship and Kate can’t think of anyone else she would rather her son or daughter look up to.”

Plus, they’re now pretty much guaranteed free concert tickets for life.”
The Duchess is eight months pregnant with her second child, a little brother or sister for 18-month-old Prince George and is expected to give birth later this month.
As Beyoncé is already a mum to three-year-old Blue Ivy, she's been giving Kate and William lots of advice about the upcoming Terrible Twos.
Like their big brother George the second royal baby will have seven godparents and it is rumoured that alongside Jay-Z and Beyoncé, David and Victoria Beckham will also get the royal call up to stand as godparents for the fourth-in-line to the throne.
