Roger Moore was born on 14 October 1927 in Stockwell, now part of the London Borough of Lambeth, in LondonHe replaced Sean Connery as James Bond in 1973, and won a Monte Carlo TV Festival Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. His other major works include Ivanhoe, Maverick, and The Saint, where he played Simon Templar.
  1. In America, he became more famous for his role in Cannonball Run than for his roles in seven James Bond films.
    Although he was considered for the role of the original James Bond, the producers believed Sean Connery was a better match.

    He left Battersea Grammar School at the outbreak of WWII. He was conscripted into the Royal Army Service Corps at age 18 during World War II.

    He married a multi-millionaire, Kiki Tholstrup, in 2002. His children, Deborah and Geoffrey Moore, both became actors. He also has a son named Christian
At 18, shortly after the end of World War II, Moore was conscripted for national service. On 21 September 1946, he was commissioned into the Royal Army Service Corps as a second lieutenant. He was given theservice number 372394.[4] He eventually became a captain. Moore served commanding a small depot in West Germany. He later looked after entertainers for the armed forces passing through Hamburg.
